Saree is a creative attire, with lots and lots of versatile effects and look. Many things make one saree different from other like fabric, work, embellishment, state and most important ways of wearing saree. First of all India is a country with many castes and traditions so style of wearing saree also changes acordingly as Gujrati style in Gujrat, Maharastrian style, Ulta Pallo, Party draps etc
Some common styles of draping saree
Ulta Pallo- This is, the most common draping style in India. Every second women will be seen in this drap. This drap is generally used in Parties and occasions for enhancing the grace of the saree.
Pleated Saree- This drap is same as the ulta Pallo but the difference is of neatly tucked pleats which is made in this kind of drap. Pleated saree is very convinient for working womens and that’s why this drap is very common with Air hostess also.
Gujrati saree or Sidha pallo- Both can be said as same, in both the drapes Pallo comes at the front of the body and it is mainly done with the saree heavy from pallo.
Maharastrian Saree- This kind of drapes is mostly done by the fishers of maharashtra. In this kind of Drap saree is worn from between the legs and tucked on waist.
Mumtaz style drap- This is very innovative drap. here saree is rounded twice around to give a slim effect. It’s hard to walk in this drap. This drap is good for saree with heavy or embroidered borders.
Double drap – This is a drap ideal for special occasions. In this drap a dupatta is also worn along with the saree which is matching. Saree is worn normally in “ulta pallo” and the dupatta is draped from the forehead something like this.
Ghagra style Drap- This is a very beautiful drap and gives your saree a ghagra look which makes the saree look gorgeous. Small margins are left while draping the saree into the skirt which gives it a very beautiful efect.
Tuck Drap- This is very common and simple approach of draping a saree. Draping is normal like “Sidha Pallo” and then the edge of the right side of upcoming Pallo is tucked in front to give a wavy effect.
Bengali Drap- Bengali drapes dosen’t have much pleats into it. This drap is very common among bengali’s. The edge of the Pallo is also used as keychain in this kind of saree drapes.
